Pixelwave Creative supports future filmmakers
Pixelwave Creative is proud to help young people in Bury improve and develop their skills for the workplace through work experience and work placements.
We are one of a number of local businesses in Bury that has pledged to help young people understand what’s it really like in the workplace before embarking on full time employment.
At the bestofbury Breakfast Club we pledged to offer work experience and work placements in association with Business Solutions Bury College.
Work experience is a one to two-week placement for students aged over 16 years, whereas a work placement provides a 40 to 50 days opportunity for a student aged 16-18 years old.
JP Woffenden explains: “We’re pleased to support the future of today’s young people and have pledged to offer work experience and work placements to students who would like a taste of the work we do in the corporate and events videography industry.”
“We recognise how important it is to provide young people with the opportunity to experience the working world, which can kickstart the growth of their future aspirations, knowledge and skills.”
Pixelwave’s first work placement – Holly, a student from Bury College – began their 45-day placement this November. Holly will complete her placement over the course of the academic year.
“This is a great opportunity for us to get a better understanding of the skillset that students are leaving college with and the content of the course and the software and hardware that students are using during their education,” adds JP. “It is also a brilliant way for us to find promising local talent as we move forward with plans to expand the business.”
