Howzat for a great event! It was a full house at The Centenary Pavilion at Elland Road in Leeds as we filmed a celebration of England cricketer Ryan Sidebottom’s fantastic career.
The iconic Yorkshire swing bowler ended his 20-year cricket career with a night of entertainment for 500 guests at his Celebration Gala Dinner on 31 August.
With a ‘black tie and glamorous’ dress code and a flamboyant host in England cricket legend Graeme Swann, the evening was packed full of laughter and entertainment.
There were guest appearances from celebrities both from the sporting and entertainment world, including Jonny Barstow and Ryan’s dad, Arnie, as well as X Factor star James Wilson and comedian Pete Emmett.
As well as the frolics, the night also raised money for the Ryan Sidebottom Cricket Foundation & Martin House Children’s Hospice. A grand silent auction offered an array of unique prizes, including personal sporting memorabilia from Sidebottom and from his England test cricket captain Joe Root.
Pixelwave Creative was delighted to be chosen as the event’s official videographer. We filmed guests from when they arrived until the early hours – leaving guests to dance the night away while Ryan Sidebottom mingled with fans for selfies and signed autographs.
