It is officially a year since JP Woffenden and Pixelwave Creative made the move across the Pennines from Yorkshire to their new home in Lancashire – but what a year it has been.
After getting over the jetlag, the Pixelwave crew has settled in nicely and is proud of a thoroughly successful year.
Here’s our top 10 things we’re celebrating from the past 12 months.
1 A new office
Pixelwave moved into its new home – a former cotton mill on the south side of the Rochdale Canal and a Grade II listed building built during the Edwardian era. Admittedly, we struggled at first with the vending machine full of chocolate and crisps but we’re now feeling home from home.
2 A new online home
The new Pixelwave Creative website launched, delivering a fresh, fully responsive design that showcases our capabilities and shares with you our success stories. What do you think?
3 Making new friendships
When a Barnsley boy moves to Lancashire, there’s a worry that things might not go too smoothly. But Pixelwave has made some fantastic acquaintances and made the most of the local business networking scene. New clients and new friends have been made thanks to the likes of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and thebestofbury. Long may it continue.
4 Enjoying brilliant adventures
From running through a field in East Yorkshire chasing a quadbike pulling a chain harrow to watching rugby players charge up fields in Leeds, we’ve had a wonderfully diverse year of brilliant projects to film.
5 Making the front cover of a magazine
We never planned to be celebrities, but it was brilliant to see Pixelwave Creative hit the press this past year!
6 Meeting inspirational people
We’ve had the privilege of filming some truly outstanding people this year and have been honoured with the task of producing films for important charity award ceremonies and events, including the Danny Jones Defib Summer Ball and the Barnsley Hospital Heart Awards.
7 Choosing our charity of the year
Despite being a small business, we still want to give back to our local community and support important causes. Which is why we were so delighted to choose Bury-based charity Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary as our charity of the year.
8 Supporting an award-winning project
Pixelwave Creative has worked closely with Collingwood Learning, the education & training provider, on its Real Safeguarding Stories project – producing 19 videos on safeguarding issues covering child sexual exploitation, child and adult safeguarding, and domestic abuse. So, we were thrilled when Collingwood Learning won the Most Effective Partnership Award 2017 at the Public Services People Managers Association Awards.
9 Stepping in last-minute for the Yorkshire Choice Awards
Pixelwave Creative stepped in to help film the Yorkshire Choice Awards ceremony with just two weeks to go before the event following a social media request from the organisers. Despite the short notice, we were able to provide events videography, working discretely and unobtrusively to capture a great night that celebrated the success and achievements of Yorkshire people and businesses while raising money for charity.
10 Getting brilliant client feedback
When clients, such as Jonathan Holmes at Lordington Park Agronomy and Chris Simes at Collingwood Learning tell you that you’re doing a great job, it feels like it’s a year gone well!
Thank you for your brilliant support over the past 12 months.
